Full range of Ringtail Emergency Lighting available at the Safety Centre.

Emergency lighting units are wired into the mains but have the benefit of battery back-up so they remain illuminated should the mains power fail. The batteries can either be carried within the body of the individual emergency lighting units or accessed via an independent wired circuit. The mains supply keeps the emergency lighting units batteries charged.

In the event of an emergency and power failure, escape routes and emergency exits must be illuminated for buildings to be evacuated safely and quickly.

Cirrus Research Sound Signs

The Cirrus Research SoundSign is a highly visible noise activated warning sound sign that has been designed for use in environments where there is a need to clearly warn or indicate when a preset noise level is reached.

The sound signs offer the following benifits to the end user:-

- Lights up when a preset noise level is exceeded

- Trigger level from 40dB(A) to 114dB(A) for use in any environment

In addition to the traditional Noise at Work style sign, the Sound Sign is also available with a range of other graphics and text which allows it to be used in environments where the noise levels may not reach those where hearing protection is required, but where there is still a need to warn or indicate excessive sound levels.

Ideal for Noisy Environments

Use the SoundSign in noisy environments such as factories, workshops, pubs and nightclubs to warn when noise levels become too high and indicate when hearing protection must be worn. For example, the 'Hearing Protection Must Be Worn' version can be used to reinforce the need to wear hearing protection when noise levels reach a set level.

A noise survey may have indicated that the levels will exceed 90dB(A) when certain processes occur but this may happen at random intervals throughout the day. The wearing of hearing protection may not required at all times and so the use of the SoundSign will inform employees when it is required and when it can be safety removed.

Ideal for Quiet Environments

Use SoundSign in quiet locations such as schools, hospitals and libraries to indicate when noise levels must be kept down. Set the SoundSign to trigger at a much lower level, 50dB(A) for example, to ensure that the noise levels in a hospital ward stay within acceptable levels. There is no need to use hearing protection but the use of a clear warning sign can be very effective in controlling and managing noise levels.

C-TECs new SigTEL Emergency Voice Communication (EVC) System has been specifically designed to meet the rising demand for fully compliant BS 5839 Part 9 disabled refuge systems.

The SigTEL Compact disabled refuge system control unit, a new all-in-one wall-mounting version, can handle up to 8 lines (expandable to 16). Typically located in a buildings control room (or on smaller applications at a fire access point) where it will allow management and/or the fire services to communicate via a telephone-style handset with the disabled refuge systems outstations.

Two types of disabled refuge systems outstation are available Type A and Type B the requirements for which are set out in BS 5839 Part 9.

Some batteries provide enormous cranking power. Others, deep cycle reserve power. The revolutionary Enersys Odyssey battery is designed to do both. How is this possible? The answer begins with flat plates made of 99.99 percent pure virgin lead and not lead alloy. Pure lead plates can be made thinner, so we can fit more of them in the battery. More Enersys Odyssey battery plates mean more plate surface area. And that means more power upto twice as much as conventional batteries. In fact, Enersys Odyssey battery are capable of providing engine cranking pulses in excess of 2250 amps for 5 seconds upto double to triple that of equally sized conventional batteries, even at very low temperatures. And they can handle 400 charge-discharge cycles to 80 percent depth of discharge.
