Ziton ZCR868-C Conventional Wireless Communicator

The Ziton ZCR868-C unit is a conventional wireless communicator unit.  It is designed to be used in conjunction with the ZCR452 conventional to wireless interface unit, enabling Ziton ZR4 wireless devices to be used on a conventional detection zone.

The ZCR868-C is a 24VDC powered wireless cluster communicator for interfacing of wireless 868 MHz Ziton fire alarm devices into a conventional ZP fire alarm system. It enables these wireless devices to be controlled and monitored directly from the CIE, and provides a seamless interface between wireless devices and the CIE.

A cluster communicator comprises of a radio transceiver capable of communicating with up to 30 wireless devices. The ZCR868-C communicates directly to a ZCR452 connected to a conventional interface, relaying all messages from the wireless field devices.

Every wireless device controlled through a cluster communicator has its own unique address with which the cluster communicator communicates with it, providing the same system capabilities as directly wired devices. A full range of wireless detection and alarm devices is available, including multi-sensors capable of dual sensing heat and smoke, smoke only or heat only configurations, manual call points, notification devices (sounders & beacons) as well as input/output units and remote indicators.

When connected to a conventional interface, the specific device message is translated into a general zone message for reporting to the CIE. Mode details, including the address of the device and the specific alarm reported, are however still available on the LCD display of the ZCR868-C greatly enhancing the diagnostic capabilities of the conventional wireless system.

Wireless devices are featured in many fire detection and alarm systems, specified where the installation of hard wiring would be difficult or impossible to complete, decorative finishes to the interior of the protected building preclude wiring runs or where the time scales to complete installation are minimal. Cluster communicators allow the system designer full flexibility in selecting the locations of wireless devices anywhere in the system.
